Discoverable discussion rooms

Use the Discoverable setting to allow people to find conversations they want to join. Setting a room to discoverable allows people to find content they care about. 

Room admins can disable the Quick Join setting to require approval of new members. 

Discoverable Setting

Room admins have permission to change the Discoverable settings. 

1. Click the button in the side menu.
2. Select the discussion room from the list.
3. Open Details and Settings from the    button. 
4. Click the gray Discoverable toggle in the Settings section.

Quick Join can be changed when the Discoverable setting is on.  This setting allows team members to join the 
conversation without having to request access. 
If it is off, team members can request access and the admin can review and approve who joins.

Request to Join a Discoverable Room

Any squad member can request to join a gated discussion room from the Discover list.

1. Click the button in the side menu.
2. Select the Discover tab.
3. Select a room from the list to view more details, or click the Request button in the list
4. You will be added to the discussion room after a room admin approves your request.

Approve a Request for your Discoverable Rooms

You will be notified in your activity list when someone requests to join your discussion room.  Use the activity item to open the requests, or open Details and Settings of the discussion room.  

1. Select the discussion room from the list.
2. Open Details and Settings from the    button. 
3. Click View Requests in the Settings section.

Room admins can approve or decline requests to join the room.  Use the Show Declined toggle to view declined requests.
