Who can create chats?
Squad Admins, Users and Guests can create chats. Squad Viewers can be added to chats so they can participate in the conversation but they cannot create one.

SquadPod offers two different types of chat rooms - a direct chat and a group chat. A direct chat is a chat with one other squad member, and no other squad members can be added to a direct chat. A group chat can have multiple members and allows the chatroom admins to manage membership and moderate content.
Create a direct chat
- Click the Chat icon in the navigation bar to open your chat list
- Click the button
- Click in the Search people box to find a squad member
- Click the Create button
- Send a message to start the chat with the other squad member
- Alternatively, you can search for a squad member's name in the chat list filter to start a new direct room, or find their profile on the People page and click Start Chat
Note: Adding a title to the chat will automatically create a group chat.
Create a group chat
- Click the Chat icon in the navigation bar to open your chat list
- Click the button
- Enter a name - this is a required field for group chats. The name can be edited at a later time.
- Click in the Search people box to find and add squad members
- Click the Create button when you are done setting up the group chat
You will be directed to your new group chat. The squad members you added to your chat can access it immediately. As a chat admin, you can add additional squad members and manage each member's role in Details and settings.
